North Curl Curl Longboard Club - Points Score Competition How it works Each points score contest is made of the two rounds of 20 minute heats. At the start of each contest, contestants are randomly selected for heats in round one by the contest directors. Each surfer’s best two waves are used to calculate their ranking in the first round. If there is a tie then count back rules will apply. Heats start with a green signal and at 15 minutes into the heat a yellow signal is displayed. The end of the heat a red signal is displayed. Once the red signal is displayed surfers must not attempt to stand-up on waves since the next heat may have started. Round one heats points
Round two heats points The second round consist of heats with all the 1st ranked surfers in one heat, then all the 2nd place surfers in another heat and so on.
Points for each round are awarded and added together to make up the total points for each surf for the contest. The scores for each months competition are recorded a count towards your total point score. For each heat the table list the place in the heat and the points awarded.
For any one season of competition your seven best scores will be used in determining your overall standing, so you can miss a few of competitions without any penalty. Also if you compete in an Australian Longboard competition on the same day as a club point score competition you can apply to have your results for the external competition included in your club points tally.
